In the initial stages of passing from AS into A2 level work, I still hadn't settled on what genre of music I wanted to do and so I decided to research, its history, its basic conventions and some key songs. I wanted to explore the genre further than the surface knowledge I had of it, simply to learn more about it but also as it was so different to the genres that I would probably end up doing i.e. folk rock, pop rock, punk rock etc. I also originally intended to see if any conventions of the older style soul music videos could be adapted for use in a modern type video, and if that was viable or something I wanted to try out.
